About Groveland

Groveland is 31 miles north of Boston. Bordered by West Newbury on the north, Newbury and Georgetown on the east, Boxford on the south, and Haverhill on the west, this bucolic town in northeastern Massachusetts is an easy commute to Boston or Lynn via I-95 and I-495. Groveland’s population is 6,400, with a tax rate of $9.59 per $1,000.

Our Schools

The Pentucket Regional School District promotes “a culture of continuous learning” and serves the towns of Groveland, Merrimac, and West Newbury.  Most students attend elementary school in their hometown, which in Groveland is the Dr. Elmer S. Bagnall School (pre-K – 6th grade). The Pentucket Regional Middle School and Pentucket Regional High School are both located in West Newbury.  Private schools near Groveland are plentiful, ranging from parochial schools like Sacred Heart School and Solomon Schechter Day School to prep schools like Phillips Academy.
